Motherwort Herb

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca L.) belongs to the Lamiaceae family. Medicinal part of the plant is motherwort herb (Leonuri cardiacae herba) wich contains active ingridients such as flavonoids (e.g. hyperoxide, rutoside), diterpenes (leocardine, leosibiricin), tannins, saponins and phenolic acids. Motherwort herb is traditionally used to reduce the stress level and also for heart diseases caused by stress (e.g. heart palpitations). Motherwort herb can be used only after other serious diseases are excluded.
